Entrepreneurship & Business Incubation Zone (eBiz)

The SFIMAR Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation Zone, known as ‘SFIMARebiz,’ was formally inaugurated on the 9th of October, 2015.

In our city, numerous aspiring entrepreneurs possess the ideas and skills needed to succeed. However, many require financial and logistical support until their operations become self-sustaining and profitable. Others have the financial resources and work experience but yearn for the freedom to fully explore their potential beyond the confines of a traditional organisational hierarchy, often leading them to leave their employers and launch their ventures. To bring an entrepreneurial idea to life, individuals must establish a legal entity swiftly and cost-effectively, with limited liability. They must invest in office space, furniture, and equipment, hire staff, establish basic in-house communication and data systems, secure a reliable power supply, and establish robust backup and business continuity systems.

Unfortunately, many entrepreneurs find themselves working in isolated and substandard facilities. They discover that owning commercial space or paying high rent is financially prohibitive. Moreover, they often lack the time and resources to effectively manage office administration; some may lack essential management skills.

Our objectives within the SFIMARebiz initiative are as follows

    • Cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and empower aspiring individuals to transform concepts and ideas into profitable ventures.
    • Provide specialised services to incubators, such as assistance with patenting, copyright protection, and facilitating access to venture capital and angel funding.
    • Offer access to office facilities to reduce operational costs and enable companies to focus on their core missions.
    • Extend outreach by providing training, mentorship, and networking opportunities to support entrepreneurs.
    • Facilitate the creation of value-added jobs and services for young incubators.
    • Aid in the incubation of promising ideas and facilitate their commercialisation.
